December 24th - Merry Christmas & See You All in 2012

December 2nd -  We are now CLOSED for the winter and re-open just in time for the Half Term Holiday on Saturday 18th February 2012 - We look forward to meeting our visitors both old and new in 2012.

November 13th - A memorable evening in the Bunker as Christian Legarde gave a wonderful concert on the 3 Manual Allen Computer Organ. The acoustics of our teak floors and high ceilings added a whole new dimension to this magnificent sound, enjoyed by a Full House audience.

November 11th -  'PARANORMAL EVENTS' Now Booking Events for 2012 - Be Sure to visit our SPECIAL EVENTS PAGE to book your tickets for these Amazing Noights ' Underground With Our Ghosts !! 

November 3rd -  In addition to providing the maintenance services for RAF Holmpton our Joint Support Unit 'JSU' will take over responsibility for the management and operation of the Public Visits as from 18th February 2012.

October 30th - A very 'BIG'  to all our visitors during the 2011 Season, making it another record breaking visitor season - We now close until February 18th 2012 just in time for the Half Term Holiday, and we will re-open with some NEW FEATURES for 2012 - Our new Opening Times will be published on this website very soon -THANK YOU ALL AGAIN !! 

October 28th - It's our SEASON FINALE and your last chance to visit us in  2011. Public Tours Fri 28th - Sat 29th & Sun 30th October - Gates 2pm - Tour 2.30pm on each of these days. There is a Ghost Hunt for Halloween on Saturday 29th at 9pm (See our special events page) and there are 3 ghjost hunts in November with the last on Saturday 26th November at 9pm (Full details and how to book on our Special Events Page.

October 20th - During the next few days our website will be migrating onto even more powerful servers at the HQ of 1&1 in Slough - During this time we apologise for any interruptions to our service.

September 29th -  Visit by members of the HULL 41 Club for an Evening Tour of the Bunker. 

September 28th -  LUPIN our RAF Holmpton 'Official Station Mascot' is 4 years old today and tucks into her favourite biscuits and a bowl of Ham & Game - More pictures on our LUPIN Page.

September 18th - Visit by members of the Joint War Organisation (Hull) WWII Re-Enactment Group. The Group was formed in year 2000 with members of the Local St John Ambulance Brigade - Currently there are around 20 members. 

September 11th -  - A visit today by the 'Harley Davidson Club' along with a collection of magnificent bikes on display - Totally appropriate for 9/11 as the NYCFB organised a 'Ride Past' to remember those 'lost' in the disaster. (Pictures to follow).

11th September -  At the start of today's History Show, RAF Holmpton was pleased to include a Special Tribute to all those lost & involved in the 9/11 disaster in NYC - A special Video Sequence along with both verses of 'The Star Spangled Banner, followed by a minutes silence - Greatly appreciated by our audience, who all took part.

10th September -  The last HODS organised by English Heritage as HODS transfers to new management for 2012 - A superb FREE morning with guests just coming along to explore the Bunker, taking photographs and asking questions - A large number them opting to join the afternoon tour for a Full Guided Walk of the Bunker with Experienced Guides - Films - Shows & Demonstrations - We will be featuring RAF Holmpton in HODS 2012, so watch out for details of next year's HODS event.

August 31st -  'The Royal Air Force Holmpton Preservation Society' was today formally registered with the Charity Commission as a Charity Number: 1143594 - We are delighted to welcome Air Vice Marshal Steven Chisnall CB MPhil BA RAF as the 1st Chairman of the Society. August 29th - Last few days of the Summer season, with a few revised tour times - See our Opening Times Page for full details.

August 21st - OPERA in the Bunker - A Full House enjoyed a special performance of 'The Mikado' performed by a small cast accompanied by two granbd pianos and timpani - With the unusual background of the Radar Operations Room substituting for 'Titipu' a throughly enjoyable evening was had by all. We hope this wilkl be the 1st of many such perfoamances - with specail thanks to David and the technical team for the superb lighting and effects.  

July 23rd -  SUMMER IS HERE and we are be open EVERY DAY from Saturday 23rd July until Sunday 4th September with TWO TOURS EVERY DAY - Gates open at 10.30am & 2pm with the tours at 11am &2.30pm - Hear us Every Day throughout the Summer on SEASIDE FM 'Our Local FM Station' 

July 18th -  Visit by RADLEY COACH TRAVEL from Brigg (Lincolnshire) A Happy afternoon spent in the bunker for a large group of Seniors - We are always happy to arrange these visits just contact us for details - T: 01964 630342

July 6th -  - HERO DOG in 2nd Rescue -  Here we go again - You may remember that in July last year 2010 Lupin our Official RAF Station Mascot rescued two Small Owls from the blast door on our power station building - Well yesterday 5th July she found these three adorable Small owls in exactly the same place. They have now gone on to 'Raptor Rescue' in Hull and will be joining last years rescued owls in a private woodland in Thorngumbald, once they have been reared and are ready to brave the wild again !

July 2nd -  A 'FANTASTIC' Paranormal Investigation with Ian Lawman (Celebrity Psychic Investigator) - Enjoyed by over 30 visitors in the Bunker between 9pm and 3am - Amazing discoveries and paranormal histories revealed and organised by the Premier Promoter of these events - www.frightnights.co.uk 

June 27th -  Our Radio Station GB2VQJ was delighted to participate in International Museums Weekend (25th & 26th June) when contacts were made around the world as we went ' On The Air' - To contact our Radio Station Manager just click on our RADIO STATION page.

June 19th -  Visit by 399 Squadron (Air Cadets) Beverley - Who all enjoyed a Special Morning Visit to the Bunker. 

June 17th -  Visiting Collie - We are always pleased to welcome Dogs and although the can't go on the tour it is quite safe to leave them in your car with the tailgate or windows open, as the car park is locked during the tour - We also have  Dog Crate available on vrequest if you prefer.

June 13th -  Paranormal News Update - We are delighted to welcome TWO NEW PROMOTERS of these amazing events at RAF Holmpton - Paranormal Experiences of Doncaster (15th October 2011) and Ghost Hunts of Hull (19th November 2011) - Just click on our Special Events Page - Scroll down to their event dates and click on the promoters link to Book Your Tickets !  

June 10th -  Visit by 54 members of the 'Holderness Vintage Machinery Club' (Keyingham) who came along at 7pm leaving the bunker at 9pm after a 'Full Visit' enjoyed by all the members.

June 6th -  Thanks to all our visitors over the Half Term break, making it a bumper week at RAF Holmpton - We are now open every Wed/Thur/Sat & Sun (Gates 2pm Tour 2.30pm) up to the Summer when we will operate two tours daily throughout the holidays.

May 14th - Full details about all the events that were held at Museums Around the UK this year will be available on the Museums at Night Website soon - RAF Holmpton will be arranging 'Something Special' for this event in 2012. 

May 6th -  Visit by former members of the Royal Observer Corps who were stationed at RAF Holmpton until 1995 - The groups enjoyed a tour of the bunker including a showiug of the last ever film made for the Corps before they were Stood Down. The last ever operations room used by the ROC is currently on display at RAF Holmpton. 

May 5th -  Our Radio Station is nearing completion and will be On The Air for International Museums Weekend - We are also hoping to be ready for Radio Station Visits throughout the Summer, and these will be available Free to anyone going on a Bunker Tour - Other visits by appointment - SEE OUR RADIO STATION PAGE FOR LATEST DETAILS.  

April 29th -  THE ROYAL WEDDING - The Staff at Royal Air Force Holmpton join in wishing the happy couple a Every Happiness for the Future. 

April 20th -  - Bob Hannington., last walked down these stairs into the Holmpton Bunker as a Radar Technician back in the early 1960's and now here he is back again all the way from Australia in 2011 - A truly nostalgic visit for Bob and his wife Meg, who made the journey out to Holmpton for a visit. One of his memories of the place, was the 'Naked Airman' seen streaking across the site as the summer sun faded behind the Type 80 Radar Array - Apparently out basking in the summer sun, sombody had nicked his clothes ! 

April 19th -  - Visit by Roy Smith RAF NCO Gighter Plotter stationed at RAF Holmpton/Patrington 1955 to 1957 (2nd from left holding book) We are always delighted to meet our Veterans.

April 16th -  - A Fabulous Ghost Night enjoyed by all with SIMPLY GHOST NIGHTS of Doncaster - Don't forget to look at our Special Events Page and book your ticket for one of these Truly Amazing Nights ! - SGN will be back at RAF Holmpton on Sat 8th October so Book Your Tickets Now - See our Special Events Page. 

April 14th - - Here Comes Easter & from the 16th April  until the 3rd May we will be OPEN EVENY DAY with Two Tours Daily - See our Opening Times Page for Full Details.

April 13th -  - Visit by Hull 36 Round Table Members for an Evening Tour of the Bunker.  

April 7th -  - We were delighted to welcome a group visit from Events PO over in the Wirral, stopping at RAF Holmpton before sailing on the 8.45pm crossing to Rotterdam from Hull.

April  6th -  The season is now moving towards the Easter Holiday  - From the 16th April until 3rd May we will be open Every Day with two tours daily: Gates at 10.30am and 2pm - Tours at 11am and 2.30pm.

April 5th & 6th -  - Once again we are being used as a Film Location this week by the University of Lincoln Media School whose students are making a film in the Bunker - WE did the same in 2010 and alreday have a request from York University Media School to use us as a location later this year - We are always happy to offer this service to both the Educational & Commercial Sector. 

April 3rd -  - RAF Holmtpon was delighted to take part in the annual 'Airfields on the Air Event from our new Radio Station 9 Full details about our Radio Station on it's own page.

April 3rd - - A lovely evening in our Private Cinema with an audience of 10 raising £100 for charity to be divided between the RAFBF & SSAFA - The audience viewed the 'A' Team on our Big Screen with THX Sound and had a throughly enjoyable evening.

March 5th - Our MAIN SEASON starts today with openings every Wed/Thur/Sat/Sun - Gates 2pm and tour 2.30pm on each of these days, right up to Easter when we will be open Every day with two tours daily.

February 27th -  SYMPHONY CONCERT - 24 Session Musicians & a truly fabulous programme (Beethoven -Mozart & Strauss) made this a real 1st for RAF Holmpton with an invited audience - Although reversing the main operations room for one night to get them all in was difficult but well woth it ! Hopefully we will do this again.

February 26th -  FANTASTIC START to the 2011 Season with our Half Term Week Openings - Record numbers of visitors with several tours full to capacity. We re-open for our Early Season on Saturday 5th March and we are then open Every Wednesday/Thursday/Saturday & Sunday afternnon with the Gates opening at 2pm and the TYour departing at 2.30pm on each of these days right up to Sunday 10th April - Then Easter comes along when we will be Open Every Day with two tours daily.

Fabruary 26th -  The Spooks were out again last night for one of our Paranormal Investigation Nights organised by COMPASS PARANORMAL EVENTS - Check our SPECIAL EVENTS PAGE for upcoming investigations at RAF Holmpton - One of the UK's most popular Ghost Hunting Venues - Often with celebrity mediums from the TV.

February 19th -  *HOUSE FULL* A Fabulous Start to our 2011 Visitor Season on Saturday - A miserable damp day but the cars kept rolling in, along with a coach party to make up a capacity crowd for the 1st tour of the season, and our Guide just about managed to remember his new script as well !
